Board of Trustees
Stacy Tate is an ordained Presbyterian Minister (PCUSA) who serves a United Church of Christ Congregation in Irvington, IL and is the President of Brehm Oil Company, a local oil production company, and Brehm Investment Group, Inc. Stacy is the daughter of Carol Brehm, the founder of our school. Stacy has served on the board in previous years and also served her local school district for over 20 years. Stacy comes to the board with an extensive background in education and as an activist for students with learning disabilities.
Bob Kueppers is the former Vice Chairman and Deputy CEO of Deloitte LLP. He is a financial expert and has deep experience in regulation, corporate governance, crisis management, and business strategy. Bob is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and has chaired the boards of several organizations. He received his BSB in Accounting from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he chairs Carlson’s advisory board.
Jim is currently President, CEO, and Director of Freehold Bank in Freehold, New Jersey. Jim’s background is diverse; including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Investment Officer with expertise in interest-rate risk, Compliance Officer, and former state bank examiner. Jim currently serves on several bank industry and community boards. Jim has been active in the local community, volunteering at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, serving as treasurer of a local church, and as treasurer of Boy Scouts of America-Troop 59. Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio. Jim’s daughter currently attends Brehm.
Before retiring in 2018, Jessica served as Vice-President of Bedway Development Corporation, a commercial construction and real estate development company. She was responsible for the construction and real estate accounting, healthcare, workers’ compensation, safety programs, and the management of commercial real estate properties. Jessica completed her Master of Business Administration degree at Wheeling University in Wheeling, WV.
Jessica is a current Brehm Parent. “Brehm was the answer that we searched for after many years of worrying about where our son would attend high school. Brehm understands and supports learning differences and social challenges. They teach ways to confront and overcome these obstacles. I’m honored to be on the Board of Trustees to ensure the future of many other students who would benefit from such a wonderful education and society.
Sheila Colombo is a native of Carbondale and is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. She holds a master’s degree in human resource development and a national certification as a professional in human resources. She has 20 years of experience in higher education at the community college and university level, including John A. Logan College, McKendree University, and Southern Illinois University – primarily in workforce development and training. She is committed to her faith, family, and mostly her endearing autistic grandson.
Nancy Winkler recently retired after 35 years in the field of education. She was an elementary school counselor in the Parkway School District in Chesterfield, MO for 25 years and has a Master of Education in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education. She was a leader in her school and district and served on many school improvement committees. Nancy worked for Special School District in St. Louis, MO for 10 years and has experience working with students with a variety of learning differences. She has extensive knowledge in child development and was responsible for writing individualized learning and behavior plans for students. Currently, Nancy speaks at local schools about mental health and it’s impact on school functioning with her dog Foxxy as well as visitng her former school so students can read to Foxxy during independent reading time. Nancy has been a friend of the Brehm family for over 45 years.
