My name is Jessica and I am one of the Independent Living Coaches at OPTIONS. My role is to help our students learn about the local community and to support them as they develop and strengthen their Independent Living skills. Having begun my time at OPTIONS in September of 2021, I am proud to accompany our students as they learn to cook, complete chores, and enjoy regular recreation activities!

My job is to assist and coach students at the OPTIONS apartments—especially cooking, chores, and independent living responsibilities. I also work with students in the Southern Illinois community as they participate in recreational activities

Welcome to OPTIONS! I am a part time instructor who works to assist students in areas of basic math and personal finance. I am also an Independent Living Coach at the apartments.
It is hard to believe that I have been with the Brehm/OPTIONS family for over 25 years. After making the transition from Brehm’s high school campus to OPTIONS, I have begun coordinating the international trips that OPTIONS students take during Spring Break. I hope you will consider joining us for our trip this year!
Mary Anderson began working as the Clinical Counselor at OPTIONS in 2020. In 2021, she received her Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus in Mental Health and a minor in Psychology from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale.
Providing social, emotional, and crisis support for students at both the Academic building and the apartments, she plays a dynamic and integral role in their lives. In addition to counseling services, Mary teaches OPTIONS courses such as Social Strategies, Advanced Living Skills, and Health 101. She also oversees various groups and clubs that focus on enriching and improving their lives.
Mary cares very deeply about our students’ social-emotional health and growth. She is always proud of them and is honored to be a part of the OPTIONS family.
