Daily Living Skills for Young Adults Building Independence

Students learn daily routines and responsibilities through structured guidance, repeated practice, and increasing ownership in apartment-style living environments.

Practical Skills Students Practice

Students practice self-care, laundry, household organization, meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, budgeting, scheduling, and everyday problem-solving. Coaches help break complex routines into manageable steps, then reduce prompts as students demonstrate consistent performance.

Practical Responsibility in Everyday Life

Daily living instruction is designed to move beyond knowing what to do toward reliably doing it. Repeated practice, reflection, and accountability help students establish routines they can carry into future apartments, college settings, employment, and community life.

Skills Are Connected to the Student’s Program Phase

Standard Phase students receive more direct instruction and oversight. Modified Phase students manage more of their routines with coaching. Extension Phase emphasizes problem-solving and self-management with limited support as students prepare for life beyond OPTIONS.
