KELLY VAUGHN, M.S. Ed's Bio:

Kelly Vaughn has been a member of the Brehm and OPTIONS community since 2003, bringing over two decades of experience supporting students as they transition from high school into college and independent adulthood. As College Liaison within a structured post-secondary transition program for students with learning disabilities, Kelly plays a critical role in helping students successfully navigate real college environments.

In her role, Kelly works closely with students enrolled in courses at partner institutions, including John A. Logan College and Southern Illinois University. She provides individualized support in areas such as time management, assignment tracking, communication with professors, and academic accountability—ensuring students can meet the expectations of college coursework while developing independence.

Kelly also guides students through the process of securing and utilizing accommodations through Disability Support Services, helping them build the self-advocacy skills required for long-term academic success. Her work bridges the gap between structured program support and the demands of higher education, allowing students to build confidence in their ability to function independently on a college campus.

With a background in Workforce and Adult Education, Kelly emphasizes persistence, accountability, and self-advocacy. Her long-standing role within OPTIONS reflects the program’s college-connected model—where students receive structured support while actively participating in real college coursework, preparing them for continued education or career pathways beyond the program.
