Jeff Vincent has been a member of the OPTIONS team for over 15 years, supporting young adults as they transition from high school into independent adulthood. As an Independent Living Coach within a structured post-secondary transition program for students with learning disabilities, he plays a direct role in helping students build the skills required for long-term independence.
Working within the apartment-based residential model, Jeff helps students develop essential daily living skills such as cooking, household management, organization, and personal responsibility. Support is structured and intentionally reduced over time, allowing students to build independence through consistent practice and real-world application.
Jeff also supports students in community-based activities, where they practice decision-making, social communication, and self-management in authentic environments. These experiences reinforce independence beyond the classroom and help students gain confidence navigating everyday adult responsibilities.
By working closely with students and maintaining clear expectations, Jeff helps ensure progress is consistent, measurable, and aligned with each student’s individual goals. His long-standing role reflects the OPTIONS model—where independent living, academics, and vocational development are fully integrated to support lasting independence.
Jeff works with students to develop essential daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and managing routines within the apartment setting. He provides consistent guidance while gradually reducing support as students build independence.
He also supports students in community-based activities, helping them apply these skills in real-world environments.
