Jeff Bilyeu brings more than 25 years of experience supporting students within the OPTIONS and Brehm community, contributing deep institutional knowledge to the program’s structured approach to independence.
As a part-time instructor, Jeff teaches basic math and personal finance, helping students build practical skills directly tied to real-world independence. His instruction emphasizes applied learning—ensuring students can manage money, make informed financial decisions, and develop confidence in everyday problem-solving.
In his role as an Independent Living Coach, Jeff works closely with students in the residential setting, reinforcing routines, accountability, and decision-making skills that are essential for successful independent living. His consistent presence across both academic and residential environments strengthens skill transfer—one of the core drivers of long-term independence.
Jeff also coordinates OPTIONS’ annual international Spring Break trips, creating structured opportunities for students to practice independence in unfamiliar environments. These experiences are intentionally designed to expand comfort zones, build adaptability, and foster personal growth beyond the classroom.
His multi-role involvement—spanning academics, residential life, and experiential learning—reflects the integrated model that defines OPTIONS’ post-secondary transition program.
Jeff supports students in developing practical life skills through both classroom instruction and residential coaching. He teaches applied math and personal finance while reinforcing routines, accountability, and decision-making skills in real-world living environments.
He also creates experiential learning opportunities, including international travel, where students build confidence and independence outside of familiar settings.
Extensive experience in education, personal finance instruction, and independent living support
Real-world experience is one of the most powerful ways students build confidence and independence.
